About
Maitri in Sanskrit means loving-kindness, benevolence, friendliness.
Loving-kindness is a fundamental part of Yoga philosophy with non-violence (ahimsa) towards all beings including oneself and this forms the foundation of our Yoga practice and teaching.
Following long careers in demanding senior positions in mental health and finance settings, Julie and Angela first met during their Yoga teacher training in Suffolk and found they had much in common including Yoga and just being present in the moment, a shared sense of humour, a love of the outdoors and the beauty of the natural world.
They also share a core belief that Yoga is for everyone. Their focus is on accessibility and the health benefits that Yoga can bring to both mind and body and a recognition of how important strength and movement can be at life’s many stages including later life.
